Fc Zurich vs Arsenal Europa league results
1:2 FT.

When referee Mohammed Al-Hakim blew the final whistle at AFG Arena today, it was Mikel Arteta’s boys who walked down the changing room with glimmering smiles on their faces. Arteta will always love his boys fighting spirit so far since this season, and especially the one they showed here on their opening account of the 2022/2023 UEFA Europe league. Nketiah almost spoiled the show, when he handed the home team a penalty after a sloppy challenge. Fc Zurich Mirlind Kryeziu took the chance and tucked it right away to make it 1-1. He will never miss such an opportunity, will he? Nketiah did went on to amend his error and headed home a wonderful Marquinhos' cross to make sure, Arsenal Europa league journey started in a happy mood. The debutant teenager Marquinhos' had initially open his Arsenal career with a bang, after scoring from a wonderful Arsenal counter-attack. The tears just couldn’t be held back, as the former Sao Paulo man celebrated his goal with joyful tears streaming down his cheeks.

 The Brazilians

Debutant Marquinhos might have scored and provided an assist today, but he is not the only Brazilian the gunners have in their ranks who showed their class in this match. He joins the list of Gabriel Martinelli, Center-back Gabriel Magalhaes and the just newly-arrived Gabriel Jesus, as the Selecao stars proved their worth by putting on a wonderful performance. Arsenal will have their Brazilian’s stars to thank today, especially the young debutant.

Arsenal Lack Of Goal scoring Form Continues

This didn’t look like the same Arsenal who lost their last match to Manchester United this past sunday. The team today seems to have forgotten Old Trafford defeat and were set to continue their run of good form. They played nicely and had most of the ball throughout the game. They were the ones with the most possessions just as they did against Manchester United, but yet again, failed to make their possession and dominance counts. Arsenal lack of finishing in front of goal has been their major problem so far this season. They might have gotten away with luck today against Zurich, but just as their last game against the men at Old Trafford ended, their luck won’t last as the season gets on. They need to be clinical in front of goal, if they have to challenge for top four spot or maybe win either the Europa league or Premier League title. Their defense also looks fragile when faced with a team that plays counter-attacking football.

 What next?

While Fc Zurich will travel away to face Servette for the Swiss Super league, Arsenal would have hosted the Merseyside men on blue (Everton) these coming Sunday, but Queens Elizabeth shocking dismiss will mean, all premier leagues’ games this week are be suspended.

Rest In Peace our beloved Queen.
