13 die in boat accident in Sokoto

The FA Cup 5th Round got off to a good start for the Cherries and Red Devils on Tuesday night, with both teams advancing through to the next round at the expense of Burnley and West Ham United, respectively.

Two games played and two teams through, with only one having to be decided after 90 minutes in extra time. Manchester United struggled to put away their chances – the same goes for their opponents, the Hammers.

But in the end, it was Scott McTominay who came away with the winning goal in the 97th minute of the game at Old Trafford – it was his second in his last three FA Cup appearances. United, now still in the running for three major trophies having progressed to the next phase of the tournament.

Meanwhile, at Turf Moor, the Clarets could do nothing with more shots at goal, more possession of the ball, and having home ground advantage meant absolutely nothing for them.

They were outdone by the Championship side, one of four EFL sides left in the competition and who knows a lot about the Premier League big guns left in the cup. They have Sam Surridge and the veteran Junior Stanislas to thank for their victory.

A goal inside the first 21 minutes by the forward and a penalty late in the 88th minute by the always reliable Stanislas was enough to see a trip to the final eight. All they have to do now is sit back and wait to see who their next opponents will be.
